Commercial LPG cheaper by Rs 171, 2nd price cut in 1 month

NEW DELHI: State-run fuel retailers reduced the price of commercial LPG (liquefied natural gas) cylinders of 19-kg by Rs 171.50 each on Monday but left the rate of 14.2-kg refills supplied to households unchanged. This is the second consecutive reduction in the commercial cylinder price following a cut in Saudi Aramco benchmark rates. The price was reduced by Rs 91.50 on April 1.

After the latest cut, a commercial cylinder will cost Rs 1,856.50 in Delhi, Rs 1,808.50 in Mumbai, Rs 1,960.50 in Kolkata and Rs 2,021 in Chennai. The rates vary due to differences in local levies.

The government does not moderate the price of commercial LPG refills and variations in benchmark rates are passed on to consumers.
