Coal stocks up but skewed availability still a concern
A dip in electricity demand following rain in many parts of the country has allowed power plants to build up coal stocks, but skewed distribution remains a cause for concern as the monsoon advances.
The total coal available with power plants increased to 26 million tonnes on Wednesday against 21 million tonnes a month ago, but fuel stocks are low at power stations at a distance from mines, keeping alive the challenge for the ministries of coal, power, and railways.
