Coal scam: ED summons 2 top IPS officers

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) investigating the multi-crore coal scam has issued summons to two top IPS officers from Bengal to appear before it in Delhi on September 26 and 28.

According to sources among the officers summoned by the ED is an Additional Director General of Police and a Deputy Commissioner of Police. While the DCP has been asked to appear in ED’s Delhi office on September 26, the ADG has been summoned on September 28. The two officials could not however be contacted for their reactions.

Sources also said that the central agency has approached an “appropriate court” seeking search warrants against the said officials.
