Coal pilferage case: ED again summons Abhishek Banerjee, TMC calls it BJP’s vendetta politics
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has again summoned TMC general secretary and Diamond Harbour MP Abhishek Banerjee for questioning in a money laundering case linked to the alleged multi-crore coal pilferage case.
The Lok Sabha member, who is nephew of West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee and considered No. 2 in the TMC, has been asked to appear at the agency’s zonal office in Kolkata on September 2.
The ED had questioned Abhishek in Delhi in March this year. The central agency has so far questioned the alleged mastermind, Anup Majhi alias Lala, Abhishek’s wife Rujira and his sister-in-law Maneka Gambhir.
