Coal India shares jump 6% on Narendra Modi’s commercial mining announcement
NEW DELHI: Shares of Coal India Ltd. traded 5.68 per cent up in Thursday’s trade at 11:45AM (IST). Around 1,533,585 shares changed hands on the counter.
The stock opened at Rs 129.5 and touched an intraday high and low of Rs 139.65 and Rs 128.15, respectively, in the session so far. Shares of the company of Coal India Ltd. quoted a 52-week high of Rs 265.0 and a 52-week low of Rs 119.25.
Total market cap of the Coal India Ltd. stood at Rs 84429.38 crore at the time of writing this report.
The Prime Minister kicked-off the auction process of coal blocks for commercial mining to achieve self-sufficiency in meeting energy needs. The process is open for domestic as well as global firms under the 100 per cent FDI route.
