Coal dispatches to power plants increasing: Power minister R K Singh

Coal dispatch to power stations have picked up and are likely to increase further to ease the coal stock position, power and renewable energy minister R K Singh said on Tuesday.

He said the increase in demand is a positive sign and indicates that the economy is growing. “It is also because more than 28 million homes were connected to electricity under the Saubhagya programme and all these new consumers are buying appliance like fans, coolers, TVs etc,” he said in a press statement.
