Coal & cattle scam: CBI to summon 17 IPS officers
In what BJP leaders Suvendu Adhikari and State party president Dilip Ghosh sees just the penultimate step before the Central Bureau of Investigation reaches the doors of the “topmost Trinamool Congress leadership,” the central investigation agency is all set to send summons to at least 17 IPS officers in connection to the coal smuggling case.
“There is just one step remaining … let the CBI first catch hold of these corrupt businessmen and implicate the IPS officers then their hands will reach the TMC leadership that reside in South Kolkata,” Adhikari said.
The CBI is investigating the coal and cattle smuggling cases in which it has already quizzed six Bengal police officers and two former IPS officers. Two top businessmen Enamul Haq and Binay Mishra are also being probed in the cattle and coal smuggling case.
