Burdwan: Vikas Mishra, one of the accused in the illegal coal mining case, could not be produced before the special CBI court on Monday due to his health condition. Mishra, who is undergoing liver treatment, is currently at hospital inside the Burdwan Correctional Home. He will be produced before the court on December 22.
Mishra, who was at a hospital in Kolkata when the court rejected his interim bail and the CBI reached the hospital to arrest him. Mishra was released from the hospital on Saturday and was produced in court the same day. “He was unwell and had to be admitted with the correctional home hospital. He might need a liver transplant,” said Shekhar Kundu, Mishra’s lawyer.
