CM: BJP provoking people to misuse free power scheme
BENGALURU: Chief minister Siddaramaiah on Monday accused the BJP of provoking the people to use electricity without any restraint.
“We will ensure that the free power scheme is not misused and put brakes on reckless use by the people,” he said at an event organised to mark World Environment Day.
“Our government has announced the scheme of free supply of power for the benefit of the poor and the middleclass. We have allowed the people to use 10% additionally to their previous year’s consumption. Citizens have welcomed it. But, the BJP, rejected by the people, is encouraging reckless consumption. This is anti-people,” he alleged.
