Close 11 thermal plants: Jain urges Centre

Delhi minister Satyendar Jain on Wednesday said he has written to the Union power minister seeking closure of 11 thermal power stations around the national capital, which contribute majorly to pollution in Delhi and its neighbouring areas.

Addressing the media, Jain said that the biggest contributors of Delhi pollution are the thermal power plants around Delhi. “The Delhi is the only state where all three thermal power plants shut down. Delhi Power Minister also noted in his letter that the Delhi government has shown the path by shutting down the thermal power plants that can be done.
