Clearing foggy conditions: Aviation sector stakeholders to put in collective efforts to fight fog-induced disruptions, says IndiGo CEO

A chaos has been encircling the aviation sector in India as several flights are seeing fog-induced delays. As these significant disruptions unleash havoc on the industry, IndiGo Chief Executive Officer Pieter Elbers has said that stakeholders in the aviation sector, including airlines and airports, will collaborate to assess and revise operations to minimise disruptions in similar situations, The Indian Express reported.

IndiGo flight disruptions

On Sunday, fog-related disruptions severely impacted flight operations, especially in case of IndiGo, which is India’s largest carrier with over 60% market share. Elbers mentioned that the situation has notably improved in the subsequent days, with less dense fog. While flight cancellations have largely normalised, some delays still persist.
