CIL, unions agree on 19% wage hike for non-exec staff
NEW DELHI: Coal India Ltd (CIL) and Singareni Collieries Ltd (SCCL) have agreed to a 19% wage hike to a combined 2.8 lakh non-executives employees of the two state-run coal miners, breaking the logjam in their latest wage negotiations with the trade unions.
The representatives of the two companies and four trade unions — BMS, HMS, AITUC and CITU – signed an MoU on Tuesday envisaging the wage hike, described as ‘minimum guaranteed benefit’.
The benefit will be effective from June 30, 2021 and include basic pay, variable dearness allowance, special dearness allowance and attendance bonus. SCCL’s employees account for close to 44,000.
