CIL supplied 44 MTs more coal to power during April-August over same period last fiscal

Coal India Ltd (CIL NSE 0.63 %) on Thursday a said it supplied 44 million tonnes (MTs) more coal to the power sector during April-August 21, than it did a year ago in the same period, even as the power stations of the country are grappling with depleting stocks at their end.

CIL despatched close to 206 MTs of dry fuel to the coal fired power plants during the first five months of the current fiscal posting 27% growth against 162 MTs of the same period previous fiscal, it said.
