Chhattisgarh plans roads expansion with Rs 24K crore

Chhattisgarh is preparing a work plan to implement expansion of roads connecting villages by spending Rs 24,000 crore, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said on Tuesday.

The Assembly passed the third supplementary budget (2021-22) of Rs 492.43 crore by voice vote.

Replying to discussion on the supplementary budget on the second day of the budget session, Baghel said the government’s priority were the poor as more than 40 percent of the people in the state were under the poverty line.

All efforts are made to uplift them. Apart from other provisions, a provision of a new contributory pension scheme with 14 percent contribution has been made.
