Chennai’s ICF to manufacture coaches for Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation

CHENNAI: Chennai’s Integral Coach Factory (ICF) will manufacture metro rail coaches for Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation, said ICF general manager A K Agarwal on Monday. It is for the first time that ICF manufacturing coaches for a state-run metro corporation.
“ICF will be manufacturing metro coaches for the Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation and garib rath air-conditioned III tier coaches that facilitates rail passengers to travel in air-conditioning comfort at lesser fares,” Agarwal said after hoisting the National Flag on the occasion of the Independence Day.
ICF would manufacture 75 Vande Bharat trains, freight trains and a steam-themed electric train based on the Vande Bharat design this year, Agarwal said.
