Chennai: Urban square under Kathipara flyover to be ready by July

CHENNAI: Motorists passing by or commuters entering the city could soon halt and grab a bite in a shop under the Kathipara flyover or even park their vehicle there and board a local bus or take the metro, as CMRL will finish the construction of intermodal urban square by July to provide commuters with seamless integration of various modes of transport.

The square which has been under construction for nearly three years, is now receiving finishing touches.

At present, workers are busy laying the roads, footpaths, deepening subway to connect GST road and100 feet road and landscaping as part of beautification. “The construction is in progress, and expected to be completed by July 2021,” an official said.
