‘Chennai-Howrah route to be normal in 3-4 days’
Kolkata/Kharagpur: Train operations on the Chennai-Howrah route, which were affected due to the Bahanaga Bazar train tragedy, will normalize within the next three or four days, railway minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said on Wednesday, report Ajanta Chakraborty & Sujoy Khanra.
Addressing the media at East-West Metro’s Howrah Maidan station, he said: “Even as the rest of the restoration work was done, certain signalling work was pending. The signalling system portion was attached by CBI. It was handed over to us two days back and restoration of the system is now in full swing. In another three or four days, it will be just like it used to be, with resumption of regular services.”
