CERC paves way for discoms to exit old PPAs

Power regulator Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) has allowed BSES Delhi discoms to exit power purchase agreements (PPA) with NTPC NSE 0.13 %’s Dadri-I, in a first of its kind order that is likely to be the trigger for many such petitions. The regulator has asked the Delhi discoms to approach the Union power ministry for relinquishment of their allocations.
