CBI raids official, residential premises of Ratul Puri, others in Rs 787-cr fraud
The CBI on Friday carried out searches at seven locations, including official and residential premises of businessman Ratul Puri, his father and other accused persons and entities in connection with a Rs 787-crore bank fraud case involving their private firm Moser Baer Solar Ltd.
The searches that began in the morning continued till late in the evening. Official and residential premises of Ratul Puri’s father Deepak Puri were also searched during the daylong operation, officials said, adding they are named accused in the case being the directors of the accused company.
Ratul Puri is the nephew of former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister and senior Congress leader Kamal Nath.
The agency registered the case on Thursday. The case relates to to Rs 787 crore alleged loss incurred by the Punjab National Bank (PNB) in the credit facilities granted to the accused firm.
