Capital’s power demand reaches 6,247 MW

The capital’s peak power demand on Tuesday cloaked 6,247 MW a little before midnight.

“On Monday, Delhi’s peak power demand had clocked 6,194 MW at 3.34 pm. It was the highest peak power demand ever recorded in the first week of May. But, later in the night at 11:30 pm, the peak power demand had clocked 6247 MW, surpassing the peak power demand recorded in the afternoon.,” sources said.

“On six occasions in April 2022, Delhi’s peak power demand has clocked the highest ever in April, each breaking the previous record in quick succession. On April 19, it was 5735 MW, 5761 MW on April 20, 5781 MW on August 21, 5786 MW on April 27, 6050 MW on April 28, and 6197 on April 29,” said sources.
