Canada extends ban on passenger flights from India by a month till September 21

NEW DELHI: Canada has extended its ban on flights from India by a month till September 21, 2021.

Travellers headed from India to Canada via some other country will need a Covid negative test report from that transit country before taking off for their destination.

However, cargo-only operations, medical transfers and military flights from India will continue to operate.

Canada had suspended all commercial and private passenger flights from India on April 23 when the second Covid-19 wave hit India. Since then the date of reopening has been postponed several times.

In a statement, the Canadian government said on Monday (August 9): “Based on the latest public health advice from the Public Health Agency of Canada, Transport Canada is extending the Notice to Airmen (NOTAM)
