Cairn has to respond to India’s arbitration award plea in US court by October 20
Cairn Energy must file by October 20 its response to India’s plea that the UK firm’s original petition for enforcement of the $1.2 billion arbitration award be dismissed, a US court has ordered.
Cairn had approached the District of Columbia court in February to confirm the arbitration award it had won against India in a retrospective tax case. In response, India had pleaded before the court in August to stay and to dismiss Cairn’s petition.
