Brookfield, Mubadala may invest $600m in Tata Power’s InvIT

Mumbai: Global investors including Brookfield, Omers, Mubadala and Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA) are in early stage discussions with Tata PowerNSE 0.49 % to invest around $500-600 million (Rs 3,500 crore-Rs 4,200 crore) in its renewable energy platform. The company is planning to unlock value and pare debt by creating an infrastructure trust (InvIT) for its wind farms and solar parks, and bring on board investors, said people in the know.

Canadian pension fund CPPIB and German financial services company Allianz have also been approached, the people said. One of the sources mentioned above said National Infrastructure Investment Fund ( NIIF) has also been sounded out, but this could not be independently verified.
