BRO proposes mega construction project of Rs 13,707 crore for U’khand

The Border Roads Organisation (BRO) has proposed a mega construction package worth Rs 13,707 crore for the border areas of Uttarakhand. On Tuesday the officers of the organization gave a presentation of the proposed projects under the package to the governor of Uttarakhand Lieutenant General (retd) Gurmit Singh.

In the presentation it was informed that the BRO has planned projects to construct 14 new roads at a cost of Rs 9,250 crore, five heliports costing Rs 77.50 crore, extension of Gauchar and Naini Saini air strips with a budget of Rs 12 crore and construction of two tunnels at an estimated cost of Rs 4,260 crore in Uttarakhand. Appreciating the package of BRO, the governor said that he will interact with the union and state governments for the project.
