BMC terminates SoBo CC road contract over failure to start work for 10+ months

MUMBAI: The BMC on Wednesday approved the proposal to terminate the contract with the cement concrete (CC) road contractor for south Mumbai for failing to start work even 10 months after issuance of work orders.

“We have issued orders to terminate the contract,” municipal commissioner Iqbal Chahal told TOI on Wednesday.

The company had skipped the hearing to decide on the termination, following which the BMC’s roads department had recommended that the contract with Roadway Solutions India Infra Ltd (RSIIL) be terminated ex parte based on its written reply.
