Blind eye turned to Paradip-C’khol NH repair
The 78km road from Paradip to Chandikhol (NH-5A) is one of the busiest roads of the State and high revenue generating highways.
Because the highway is connected to the Paradip port and port based industries like PPL, Iffco, IOCL refinery, Essar steel and others, it has a lot of importance.
But though both sides of the road are crowded with slums, residential colonies and villages but there is no approach road. Besides, the road is not repaired.Over 25,000 trucks, including heavy vehicles like project cagro carriers run on the road round-the-clock.
Even the Iffco and Essar steel plants are directly connected to the highway. But it seems none bothers for the road. So potholes and dust pollution are a major worry for the road users who often meet accidents. Every day small or big accidents occur on the road.
