Bhubaneswar airport to remain partially shut for 8 months
NEW DELHI : The Biju Patnaik International Airport will remain partially shut for eight months, according to an IANS report. Plans of several air travellers could get affected as the Bhubaneswar airport will be partially closed due to the runway re-carpeting work which will be done in two phases from November. Flight services are likely to be rescheduled.
Bhubaneswar airport director Suresh Chandra Hota informed that as the re-carpeting work of main runway will be taken up, we have decided to close the airport from 10:30 pm to 5:30 am from 1st November 2019 to 31st March 2020.
“We are planning for runway re-carpeting with effect from 1st November to 31st March, 2020 from 10 pm to 5.30 am. We have requested Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) for permission. Once we get the approval, the work will start,” IANS quoted Suresh Chandra Hota as saying.
