Bharti Airtel commissions captive solar power plant in Uttar Pradesh for its data centres

NEW DELHI: Bharti Airtel Friday commissioned a 14MWp captive solar power plant in Uttar Pradesh to meet the energy requirements of its core and edge data centres in the state.

The facility which will be established in Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh, in partnership with AMP Energy, will be the first of the two power plants being set up in the state, while the second plant at Begampur is expected to start functioning in the next quarter.

As part of its mission to rapidly grow its green energy footprint, Airtel had acquired a 26% equity stake in AMP Solar Evolution.
