Benito Juarez Marg underpass opens, will benefit 2.5 lakh people: Delhi and Gurgaon come closer

Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia Saturday inaugurated the 1.2-km-long Benito Juarez Marg underpass that is set to reduce the time to commute between Central and South Delhi. The underpass starts at Durga Bai Deshmukh South Campus Metro station and connects it to AIIMS and Moti Bagh.

With its signal-free commuting, the underpass is expected to provide relief to nearly 2.5 lakh commuters travelling to and from the airport to Delhi and on the Delhi-Gurgaon route. Officials said the underpass will divide into two wings in a ‘Y’ shape from the source point.

Inaugurating the underpass, Sisodia said, “Dhaula Kuan, the road leading to the airport and Sardar Patel Marg witness huge traffic during morning and evening peak hours, and this underpass project was aimed at solving this problem.
