Bengaluru: New AI-based screening of flyers for Covid
BENGALURU: A new AI-based pre-screening mechanism for symptomatic passengers for Covid-19 has been introduced at Kempegowda International Airport (KIA).
Sources from KIA said the new mechanism named ‘Choco’ deploys AI with chest X-rays to provide results within a minute. It was officially unveiled on Friday. Trials were under way at KIA for four weeks among volunteering passengers.
Passenger screening was done and results generated within a minute. Persons below 18 and pregnant women were excluded, sources said. The screening mechanism is not mandatory for travel and will remain on a trail basis for three months.
