Bengaluru: Demand for inverters up, but not many opt for solar variant

BENGALURU: Amid the ongoing power crisis and sweltering heat, demand for battery backups and inverters is on the rise.

Anecdotal evidence suggests a 20%-25% increase in overall demand, but businesses say enquiries for renewable energy inverters aren’t converting into sales as people are yet to embrace it in a big way owing to high cost and difficulty in usage.

“With temperature rising, fans have to be kept on all the time. Bulk of our orders come from Ramamurthynagar, KR Puram, Hoskote, Whitefield, etc,” said, Kishore Chandra, owner of Linear Power Tech. Linear is a distributor of UPS batteries and inverters.
