Bengal CID nabs Haryana bizman in coal scam case

Kolkata: The CID has arrested a Haryana-based businessman for his alleged role in coal mining scam.
The CID’s Special Investigation Team picked up Sanjay Malik from a farmhouse close to Sonepat with the help of local police on July 31. Based on a tip-off, investigators arrested him after trailing him from Delhi.
Malik was brought to Asansol via Durgapur on three days’ transit remand and produced at an Asansol court on Tuesday.
“He has been a regular in the Asansol-Jamuria belt and acted as a middleman for several influential persons,” a CID officer said.
