Benefits of softening in international oil prices will be quickly passed on to consumers: Petroleum Secy

Benefits of a decline in oil prices will be promptly passed on to domestic fuel consumers, Petroleum Secretary Tarun Kapoor has said.

State-run oil NSE 0.81 % marketing companies have already cut rates of petrol and diesel thrice in a week, tracking a decline in the international rates of oil. Cooking gas rates, usually revised at the beginning of every month, are also expected to drop.
