Bandra (E) skywalk to be rebuilt for whopping Rs 83cr

MUMBAI: Four years after the Bandra East skywalk was shut, the BMC has invited bids for its reconstruction and aims to get it ready in 15 months.

Sanjay Kaundanyapure, BMC chief engineer (bridges), said in 2021, BMC had proposed to build a 4-metre wide skywalk only up to the Bandra court, which was 450 metres.

“People went to court demanding the skywalk be extended up to Mhada… The length was increased to 750 metres. We are going to install three escalators, the width will be 6.5 metres and the entire stretch will be covered.
