Azad powerless as electricity cut over non-payment of dues

The Jammu Power Distribution Corporation Limited (JPDCL) has started acting tough against the chronic defaulters including several top politicians as they have been shying away from paying their regular power bills.

During the special drive conducted in some areas of Jammu on Saturday the power corporation snapped several power connections including those of politicians namely Ghulam Nabi Azad, Chairman of the Democratic Progressive Azad Party and others.

According to official sources, a power bill of around 4 lakhs was served at the official residence of Ghulam Nabi Azad in Jammu. After several reminders when the same was not cleared by the concerned, the power lines were snapped on Saturday.
