Audi sets up RE powered ultra-fast charging station in Mumbai

Audi India today introduced India’s first ultra-fast charging station developed in collaboration with ChargeZone, the ‘e-tron hub’ in the Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) in Mumbai that will be entirely powered by renewable energy, with the solar roof contributing to peripheral electrical needs.

The ultra-fast charger has a total capacity of 450kW, delivering 360kW of power to electric vehicles through a 500-amp liquid-cooled gun and five charging bays and an integrated lounge with 24/7 access.

Audi e-tron owners can charge for free at the ‘e-tron hub’ until March 2024. The charging station is compatible with all electric vehicles and offers premium coffee vouchers for e-tron owners. It can be accessed via the ‘Charge my Audi’ on the myAudiConnect app.

Balbir Singh Dhillon, Head of Audi India, highlighted the significance of the ultra-fast charging station in developing a comprehensive electric vehicle ecosystem. “The rapid charging infrastructure is pivotal in alleviating concerns about range limitations, ensuring a seamless experience and considerably less charging time,” Dhillon stated.

Kartikey Hariyani, Founder & CEO, Charge Zone, expressed delight in the collaboration, emphasizing the need for an integrated approach to technology, renewable energy, and suitable locations for a seamless electric vehicle user experience.

Currently, Audi India has installed 140+ chargers across 73 cities, including dealerships, workshop facilities, and select SAVWIPL Group brand dealerships strategically located along highways.

Audi India boasts the widest luxury electric vehicle portfolio in the country, featuring six electric cars, including the Audi Q8 50 e-tron, Audi Q8 55 e-tron, Audi Q8 Sportback 50 e-tron, Audi Q8 Sportback 55 e-tron, Audi e-tron GT, and Audi RS e-tron GT.
