As petrol price keeps on increasing, diesel takes a u-turn. Check latest rates
NEW DELHI : Reflecting a rise in international benchmark rates, the price of petrol has gone up by 70 paise a litre in the last seven days while that of diesel is up just four paise. Even during the day, the state-run fuel retailers increased petrol price by 10 paise but decreased diesel price by 6 paise a litre.
In New Delhi, a litre of petrol costs ₹73.30 and diesel ₹65.79. In Mumbai, a litre of petrol is priced at ₹78.97 and diesel ₹69.01. If you are Gurgaon, you are charged ₹73.16 for petrol and ₹65.13 for diesel. In Bengaluru, petrol is priced at ₹75.81 and diesel ₹68.03.
Fuel prices, which were on a declining trend last month, reversed from November 8 with a hike in petrol and diesel prices. While petrol kept on increasing since then, the rate of diesel fluctuated.
