Are FM’s clean energy, EV announcements in line with India’s climate commitments? Experts weigh in

In an effort to boost EV adoption and facilitate clean energy transition, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Tuesday announced a slew of measures focusing on the growth of green energy, electric mobility, data centres, grid-connected energy storage and supporting incentives for green bonds.

In her Budget Speech, Sitharaman said that the government will bring a battery-swapping policy to boost the use of EVs in the country and interoperability standards will be formulated.
