AP discoms assure HC of settling all pending payments in 4 weeks

Power distribution companies of Andhra Pradesh assured the high court in the face of a legal challenge from renewable energy developers that they will settle all pending payments of Rs 1,095 crore in four weeks.

The Andhra Pradesh High Court said on Friday that it will shortly pass an order directing the discoms to stick to their commitment, according to people close to the development.

Many developers had gone to court seeking payment of dues from state discoms which had remained unpaid for months. A few months ago, the court had directed them to pay but only a small portion of dues were cleared, said the people.
