Andhra Pradesh’s renewable power tariffs attractive: RK Singh
HYDERABAD: The union renewable energy minister RK Singh has found no basis for the apprehensions of Andhra Pradesh chief minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy on irregularities in renewable energy power purchase agreements (PPAs) entered into by the previous regime of Chandrababu Naidu.
Responding to the Andhra CM’s July 25 letter to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi on apprehensions over irregularities, the union minister said the solar power tariffs fixed through competitive bidding were ‘financially attractive and competitive option’. “I urge you to not to revisit PPAs only on the basis of apprehensions of irregularities,” said the power minister in his letter, adding that it would “send wrong signals to the investors across the world about the credibility of contracts and agreements in India.”
