Andhra Pradesh: Ensure 24×7 supply to hospitals, discoms told
Vijayawada: Minister of energy, environment and forests Balineni Srinivas Reddy in a review meeting with officials of the energy department on Sunday asked power utilities to prioritise supply to hospitals and the healthcare sector.
He instructed senior officials to be ready with teams to address supply outages, especially in hospitals. With domestic demand set to rise with increasing temperatures, the minister directed power utilities to ensure round-the-clock supply to all households in the state.
Power demand in the state fell by around 25% the week after the 21-day lockdown was imposed, the energy department has said.
