Amritsar Improvement Trust cancels Rs 41-cr tender to construct bypass on pvt land

The Amritsar Improvement Trust (AIT) has quashed the tender of Rs 41.73 crore to construct a four-laned bypass to link the UBDC road with Bhagtanwala Grain Market through private fields.

Deputy Commissioner-cum-AIT Chairman Harpreet Singh said, “The tender has been cancelled as it didn’t fulfil the pre-condition of the tendering process. The land was not transferred to the AIT and the Municipal Corporation also not declared the road as public street. Moreover, it has jumped the deadline to get materialised.”
