NEW DELHI: An Alliance Air ATR veered off the runway while landing at Jabalpur with 60 people on board Saturday afternoon. Luckily, all the 55 passengers and five crew members on this Delhi-Jabalpur flight are safe. The pilots have been derostered (taken off flying duties) pending an investigation by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) into the incident.
In a statement, state-owned Alliance Air said: “During the operation of Alliance Air flight 9I 691 from Delhi to Jabalpur on March 12, 2022, Alliance Air aircraft shot off the runway by 10 metres. We are grateful that all passengers and crew on board the flight are safe. Our first priority is to evacuate passengers without compromising their safety.”
“While we follow laid down policies/procedures as per the regulatory authorities and have strict checks in place – both pre and post-flight operations to ensure complete safety of our passengers & crew, we regret the unfortunate incident. We have taken strict note of the incident and the cockpit crew has been de-rostered.
