Akasa Air’s Vinay Dube on airline’s take-off plans
“By the end of the fiscal year 2022-23, we hope to have 18 aircraft delivered and then 14-16 aircraft every 12 months, which will make up our order of 72 delivered over five years,” says Vinay Dube CEO of Akasa Air. Edited excerpts:
In this world of ULCCs, LCCs and full-service carriers, where will we see Akasa Air?
I would say definitely in the middle as we are LCCs (low-cost carriers). We would be a budget carrier. We will have a fleet type single class of service and all of the other trades that go with a budget carrier, but what we would like to do in addition to that is have warm and efficient customer service, a very dependable offering to our customers and of course be very affordable.
