Akasa Air counts on new Navi Mumbai and Noida airport to drive growth

New Delhi: Akasa Air will get a major boost from the opening of new airports in Navi Mumbai and Noida with the budget airline currently struggling to expand in Delhi and Mumbai due to lack of slots at the existing airports.

“For a long time, India’s top two markets have been stagnant due to lack of capacity. These two new airports will be a catalyst for growth, and we are prepared to take advantage of that,” said Praveen Iyer, chief commercial officer at Akasa Air. “We want to be a strong competitor to the market leader in these two airports.”
