Airlines told to ramp up manpower, infra to handle peak holiday rush

The Ministry of Civil Aviation on Tuesday asked airlines to deploy adequate manpower at all check-in and baggage drop counters to ensure smooth flow of passengers.

Shortage of manpower including of immigration officials and security personnel, as well as of X-ray baggage screening machines has resulted in India’s metro airports becoming a nightmare for passengers in the peak holiday season.
