Airlines to strictly follow ‘one hand bag’ rule: Scindia

Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia on Thursday informed the Lok Sabha that Airlines have been told to strictly follow the ‘one hand bag’ rule in the aircraft. The Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) had issued a circular on February 24, 2000 to enforce the rule, he said during the Question Hour.

Scindia, however, also said different airlines have different luggage policy and that aviation is “ a deregulated sector and we can not regulate it”.
