AirAsia crash was avoidable

Within 42 minutes of take-off from Indonesia, 162 people travelling in the AirAsia flight 8501 to Singapore on December 28, 2014 crashed to death. The reason was “cracking of a solder joint of both channel A and B resulted in loss of electrical continuity and led to Rudder Travel Limiter Unit (RTLU) failure.” It was not the first failure of the same unit. This unit failed repeatedly. In the year 2014, this unit failed every month with the exception of March and April 2014.
