Air India’s losses to be borne by the government, until the Tata Group takes over ownership
The government will fund losses of about Rs 20 crore a day until Air India is handed over to the Tata Group. The government plans to hand over the airline entirely by December 31, 2021.
“Till the time equity transfer happens, Air India operations will be funded by the government,” said a senior government official, who did not want to be identified.
