Air India to launch Mumbai-San Francisco non-stop flights from Dec
MUMBAI: Air India on Friday announced the launch of thrice weekly non-stop flights from Mumbai to San Francisco (SFO) from December 2 and the return of its thrice weekly from Bengaluru to SFO from December 15. With both these flights, the airline will, for the first time ever, offer premium economy class seats on its ultra long haul routes to the US. Currently Air India operates non-stop flights to SFO only from Delhi. The new flights will take Air India’s SFO offerings from the current 10 to 16 weekly flights from Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru.
Apart from the US flights, the Tata Group owned airline announced 14 additional weekly flights to Birmingham and London, to be introduced in October. “With 5 additional flights a week to Birmingham, 9 additional flights to London and 6 additional flights a week to San Francisco, Air India will be able to offer over 5,000 additional seats every week to customers,” said the airline in a press statement.
